Megan Francisco holds an Education Specialist degree in School Psychology (University of Colorado, Denver), a Colorado Dept. of Education Special Services Providers License in School Psychology, and a Bachelors of Arts in Psychology (Wesleyan University, Connecticut). She is also a Nationally Certified School Psychologist.
Megan began her work in the field of psychology in 1995 at a wilderness based residential treatment center for adolescents in Vermont (Eckerd Youth Alternatives). After completing her 2 year contract, she decided to move to the Denver area and worked in a community based residential treatment program for adjudicated youth (Shiloh House) for approximately 3 years. She then attended graduate school and began working in the Denver Public Schools in a Special Education role in 2000. She worked as a School Psychologist (also covering the social worker role in some of her schools) in DPS from 2002-2009. Prior to joining us at Free Horizon in the fall of 2014, Megan worked as a Behavior Specialist at the Golden Community Center Preschool. She brings a parent perspective to her return to the public schools, with 5 years of full time child development work with her own two small children at home.
Megan loves to read, go running, and learn new things (including more about Montessori education)! She enjoys camping, hiking and ATV riding with her husband and kids.
